Both 2021 Lambert Girls Lacrosse teams completed another outstanding 2021 season! Reflecting back on the season, there are so many highlights to share so here's an end of season recap!
Varsity
The Varsity girls finished up their amazing season making an eye-catching run into the Elite 8 of the GHSA State Playoffs. Fearless & gutsy wins over North Paulding & Mountain View put them in the late rounds, peaking at just the right time. Although the last game did not end in their favor, these girls gave it their all and gave us their all! Their amazing season culminated with an impressive 15-6 record (6-2 in region) against some very high quality opponents, (5) of which were among the Top #10 teams in the state of Georgia. Although rankings are subjective, with their results & factoring in their strength in schedule, they have earned themselves a #7 ranking in the State of Georgia! With an early season win over Chattahoochee (ranked #3), the girls etched their place as one of the elite HS teams in the state of Georgia and a team other High Schools feared playing. Thru the balance of the season, (4) of the (6) losses came from Walton (ranked #11), West Forsyth (ranked #2), and Creekview (ranked #3)....impressive to say the very least!
A few other notable highlights from the 2021 campaign, we witnessed (2) single season records get reset - Delaney Hill put her name next to the team's Ground Ball & Draw Control records....and Delaney is just a Sophomore! Additionally, a few other records were being encroached upon by several other members of the team. This is just a testament to the talent, coaching, and what this young team is capable of in the season's ahead...we can only wait and see.
Finally, a heart felt congratulations to our (9) graduating seniors - you have represented the program and your team with amazing Longhorn Pride and the legacy you each are leaving has set the path for future Longhorns to carry on the traditions and winning culture you've each help continue to build. Thank you and we all wish each of you a lifetime of continued success & happiness - truly #Longhorns4Life.
Junior Varsity
The Junior Varsity girls completed their season finishing 6-3 against strong schedule of opponents. Several of the JV players stepped up and played in several of the Varsity games this year and did amazing! This team proved themselves to be a force and talent rich...the future talent of our Longhorn program.
Finally a word of thanks to our (3) amazing coaches - Coach Travis, Coach Goodman, and Coach Lawler....among the best coaching staffs in the state of Georgia. We're fortunate to have each of you, your commitment, your passion, and your love of all these girls and our great program. In addition to our great coaches, a HUGE thank you to all our season's sponsors. Your contributions & support of our team is appreciated beyond words!
